I like it!
By R. M. Dobbs
I like this product. In recent years, I've heard two different nutritionists speak at my prostate cancer support group, and they both said that you can't absorb more than about 400 mgs of calcium at a time. Any amount over that is just urinated. Since you need 1200 mgs per day, you therefore must take three doses spaced out over 24 hours. They also said calcium should be taken with vitamin D.
So, this slow release form of calcium plus D is a great way to kill three birds with one stone. At first I was bothered that you had to take two of these pills (at the same time) to get the needed 1200 mg per day dose. Then I realized two smaller pills was a good thing since it's a way to avoid one huge pill.
What bothers me, though, is this same Amazon site shows Citracal is hawking another calcium product (with "bone density builder") with claims it is a superior way to take calcium because it contains something called genistein. If genistein is indeed "clinically proven to significantly increase bone density by up to 5%," why didn't they include it in this slow release version?!!! But I'm so pleased with the time release feature, I'm not going to look this gift horse in the mouth.

A full day's supply
By littleshelley
These are not super large, or hard to swallow. They have your full day's supply of calcium. And they are less expensive than other, smaller dosages. I'm thrilled!

Really works !
By Sally Fionte
I'm a senior citizen with medical issues which require
regular bone density scans. After I started using this
product, the improvement was obvious. It is hard to find
in pharmacies. Thanks, Amazon !
