We have specially designed these padded potty training pants to fit loosely so that they can be pulled on and off by the toddler, without adult help. Not only does this increase the chance of getting to the potty on time, but it also makes the whole process much more independent, which is the goal of this potty training system. They have an absorbent center panel that contains the accidents, but will make your toddler uncomfortable and therefore increase her awareness of her excretory function, especially when compared to diapers and pull-ups. The potty pants feature breathable side panels, wide rib leg bands for a comfortable fit and a center panel with fiber sponge for super absorbency. These padded potty training pants are very comparable to the Gerber training pants. I highly recommend these potty training pants. They are our best sellers, however these potty pants are not waterproof and if you are worried about messes and leakages coming through the potty pants, we carry three other types of potty training pants that have an waterproof outer layer. 1. Thickest padded training pants we've found

Potty Scotty's are pretty good... tend to run large at the legs so you don't need to buy a size up like you should with Luvable Friends. The padding is very thick, but unless the leg holes fit well, the pee may leak out at the legs when it's released.

We've adapted to this by putting on two layers of training pants, which helps keep leaks from the reaching the floor too.

As far as being true to size, we find the Gerber cotton training pants to be best. A good fit for thinner children, especially since the Gerber waistband does not shrink as with Potty Scotties and Luvables.

Love the absorbancy but....

These are super absorbent and totally save you from having to clean the carpet every time your little one has an accident. Even though they are absorbent, your toddler will still know they wet themselves. They are expensive though and they aren't made very well. After washing them for the first time one pair had a hole in them that I had to darn shut and I am constantly trimming long threads from the inside of them.

Nice and absorbent!

My baby is pretty big for his age, but at ten months he is still a bit away from potty-training. Still, because trying to diaper him is occasionally like trying to wrestle a bear cub, I ordered a couple of different kinds of training pants so that I can "diaper" him standing up.

These are the most absorbent of the brands I've tried. I can slip him into a pair of these training pants and a wool or fleece diaper cover and he'll be good for an hour or so.

Make no mistake; these aren't diapers, so at the end of that time there are good odds he'll be soaked (it doesn't take much). But it's good to know that when potty training begins in earnest, I'll be able to count on these to save us from soaked sheets and rugs.

Also, the times my kiddo has pooped in these faster than I can get him onto the potty chair, the leg and waist elastics have contained the mess. Good stuff! I'll be ordering a size up soon.
